National Standards
Standards previously set by the Leg Ulcer Forum which were based on the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) Quality Standards have now been replaced by the National Wound Care Strategy Programme (NWCSP).

The National Wound Care Strategy Programme (NWCSP), which is commissioned by NHS England to improve wound care, and Workforce Training and Education (WTE) have developed a series of online wound care education resources for health and care professionals, people with wounds and carers.
Authored and peer-reviewed by wound care experts, these high-quality resources are written for learners at Level 4 or above and are suitable for health professionals working in hospital and community services as well as professionals working in the care sector. This e-learning programme aims to support the health and care workforce in developing the knowledge and skills to enable appropriate wound care to people in any setting.
Developed to suit different learning styles, these interactive resources are updated regularly to ensure they are promoting evidence-based practice and are free of charge for anyone working in health or care in the United Kingdom.
Please visit the elearning for healthcare website to sign up for this training. Registration guidance is also available.
